HOW TO DO A BIRTHDAY PARTY SCAVENGER HUNT FOR KIDS

Rules

This part should be pretty common sense. Make it a rule that the kids must stay with their adult. Have them all return back to the home base at the same time. Have rules for how they can find each objects. Etc.

Setup

Divide your kids in teams. There should be at least be two kids on each team. For safety, have an adult “coach” each team. Give each team a pre-made list of things for them to find along with the rules to the game. Then just let them loose and see which team wins!

Scavenger List

This is where the fun part comes in. First you need to decide what your theme is going to be. You can have them find a bunch of 80’s memorabilia, or food items, or do a photo scavenger hunt. A photo scavenger hunt can be really fun if you make an album on Facebook for it.

If you’re going to do a photo scavenger hunt, here are some ideas of what to have them snap a picture of:

  • team picture
  • something green
  • something shiny
  • something that walks on four legs
  • each team member acting out a magic power
  • red door
  • basketball hoop
  • flag
  • each team member taking a selfie
  • someone wearing shorts
  • a convertible
  • rain boots
  • yellow house
  • shag carpet
